I want to play SC2 and possibly Cata when it comes out, looking for specs i should look into for a tower. I got a monitor and all that and don't mind trying to build my own from scratch. Any ideas suggestions for what specs i should look into getting? :) thanks guys and gals!

7,200 rpm main hard drive at least or an SSD by Intel if you can afford it
Core i7 920

LGA1366 x58 based motherboard (ASUS is a good brand)
6x2GB Triple Channel 1333Mhz DDR3 memory.. OCZ is a good brand
LianLi Alluminum tower case would be good.
I'd suggest an ATI 5870 or a couple smaller cards in SLI.
Around a 800watt power supply should do the trick
If you're looking for a good CD/DVD burner, Plextor is the best out there, but I've also had a lot of luck with LG.

Thanks bra :) my buddy chase (or blackrage if you ever met him on his druid in game) can get me a good deal on a tower at sam's club for about $450 with his discount. I cannot remember the exact specs but it sounded nice :) probably just need a video card upgrade after I get it.

Just make sure it has at least 1 x16 PCI-e slot and you'll be ok. The system itself will most likely be a bottleneck to a fast video card, but its a good way to save some money.

Depending on the specs, I'd recommend a 5750 or 5870 ATI card
